Eat at Watercourse, Defend Whales

Eat at Watercourse on Monday. The vegan food will nourish your body and spare animals from harm. And on this day only, your purchase will help save whales. The restaurant is donating a percentage of the day’s sales to the Sea Shepherd Conservation Society, who are battling the Japanese whaling fleet in the Southern Ocean right now.

That’s Monday, January 23rd. 837 E 17th Ave (like you didn’t know). Pick up some Sea Shepherd merch while you’re there and help out a little more.

Watercourse + Sea Shepherd July 25th

Watercourse’s Nonprofit Monday will again be benefiting Sea Shepherd Conservation Society on July 25th.

Mark your calendar. The whale warriors rely on donor support to fund their missions to thwart illegal poaching around the world. And with Japan recently announcing their intentions to return to the Southern Whale Sanctuary near Antarctica again this year, the Shepherds will need the help.

Here’s the Facebook event, hosted by Sea Shepherd Denver.

Tilikum Returns To SeaWorld?! Really?!

Tilikum, the whale who killed a trainer on Feb. 24, 2010, has retuned to SeaWorld in a show called “Believe”. “Believe” what exactly? That SeaWorld will do anything to make a buck? Not only by keeping wild animals in captivity, but by putting human life at risk?! This is crazy, when will they learn?! SeaWorld even went as far to say they feel it’s an important part of Tilikum’s physical, social and mental enrichment to be back in the water. Why do they think Tilikum acted out in the first place? I suspect it had something to do with being kept captive, forced to do unnatural tricks, dealing with screaming crowds and being kept in pools rather than the ocean. Maybe freedom from SeaWorld would be truly enriching!

Watercourse + Sea Shepherd

Watercourse Foods’ nonprofit Monday is benefitting the Sea Shepherd Conservation Society tomorrow.

That means 10-15% of the restaurant’s sales from January 24th will be donated to Sea Shepherd. If you’ve been hankering for a Dona Lee, Blue Plate, or Grinder, tomorrow is the day to get your fix. We at P&A are huge fans of Sea Shepherd, and if you are too, come out for a great meal to help Neptune’s Navy save some whales. They are doing a great job right now down in the Southern Whale Sanctuary near Antarctica, risking their lives to save every whale possible. The least we can do is support Operation No Compromise by eating the food we love anyway.

My strategy is to go during an off-peak time, like between breakfast and lunch. Hopefully it will be busy, so maybe try to beat the crowds, too? Sea Shepherd Denver has set up a facebook event with more info.
