We’re doing our first carrotmob, and we need you!

Hi*Rise bakery at 22nd & Larimer

The friendly folks at Denver’s Hi*Rise bagel shop have done something nice for vegans, so we want to do something nice for them. Join us at Hi*Rise on Sunday, January 9th at 10am for bagels and coffee as a way to say thanks to the bakery for adding their awesome new vegan bagel spreads. They have had tasty hummus for a while, but last month they unveiled some new vegan cream-cheese spreads to go on their house-made bagels (most of which are also vegan). Hi*Rise is located at 2162 Larimer St., 2 blocks east of Coors Field.

One of the stated goals of Plants & Animals Denver is to make Denver more a vegan-friendly city. I can’t think of a better way to help make that happen than to get a bunch of vegans together and reward a local business for creating something just for us. Hi*Rise is independently owned and it is a nice spot to meet a friend, have lunch, grab some Ozo Coffee, or (lucky for us) find some veg-friendly options. Mark your calendar for 1/9/11 because we need to show Denver businesses that vegans have buying power.

Hi*Rise knows we’re coming, so let’s get a big carrotmob ready. Tell a friend, and come hang out with some new pals. I’m hoping to see at least a dozen vegans there, but I bet we can get a lot more.
